Ready To Work Inc. Ready To Work Inc. - Empowering Women

Volunteer Profile

Hi, my name is Trish. I began volunteering at Ready to Work in 2010.  I volunteer one day a month as I also work full time. Thanks to my employer, who is very supportive, I am able to do this. I have always wanted to volunteer and when I discovered Ready to Work I knew it was an organisation I wanted to be involved with.  Ready to Work offers such a great service to the community. Its stressful enough having to go to an interview, then have to worry about what to wear to give that best first impression. Ready to Work removes that stress of having to find appropriate clothing for an interview and I'm so glad I can be apart of that.

For me volunteering at Ready to Work is so rewarding. I really enjoy helping select outfits for the clients as well as helping them with interview techniques. It makes me happy to see them smile when they leave as well as having met lots of wonderful people both the team at Ready to Work and the clients. I look forward each month to my days volunteering at Ready to Work and hope to contribute even more in 2011.

Romy joined the Ready to Work team approximately four months ago.  In this time she has assisted numerous ladies with styling techniques and personal presentation.  Romy has many years of experience in the fashion industry from selling, styling, manufacturing and quality control.  "Just seeing the ladies confidence change when wearing the right clothes and feeling good about themselves is very important to me", says Romy.

Birute picked up a leaflet from the Women's Council Forum regarding Ready to Work and organised to volunteer her time for clothing presentation.  "It is such a fantastic cause and I love helping women get prepared for the workplace", said Birute.  Birute has been a keen supporter of Ready to Work and is a valued member of our volunteer team.
