How You Can Help

.... with your time, your skills, your donations. Click here to donate.

Clothes Consultation: This is an opportunity for personal interaction with our clients on site at Ready to Work.  In a boutique-like setting, you will help each client select interview appropriate clothing, shoes and additional accessories.  Opportunities are available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday from 9.30am to 3.00pm.  Client appointments generally last approximately one hour.

HR/Interview Coaching: This is a great opportunity if you have HR skills to work with clients to improve their presentation and interview skills by providing mock interviews as well as offering constructive feedback on how women can improve their interviewing skills. This experience will provide the client with confidence in answering questions in an interview-like situation which is so important in gaining a job.

Fundraising Activities: Volunteers organise fundraising activities, both personal and corporate sponsored, to support the programme at Ready to Work. Volunteers use events such as book clubs, movie nights, health club events or business association meetings as opportunities to raise awareness and funds for Ready to Work.

Mentoring: Volunteers connect one-on-one with clients to provide ongoing support. Mentors are needed to provide guidance to women who are working to become independent or who have recently re-entered the workforce. While the scheduling for this unique volunteer opportunity is flexible, we do ask that the mentoring relationship be in place for a minimum of one year.

Workshops: Volunteers who have experience in their professional field help facilitate workshops on topics including health and beauty, gaining financial independence and budgeting and necessary life skills.

Clothing Intake/Inventory Management: Our team of volunteers will assist with clothing inventory by sorting through clothing donations, selecting desirable work attire, organising and maintaining the levels of clothing and displays in the boutique-like setting and managing and arranging the storage space.

We will be holding a stall in either the Karrinyup or Melville markets (markets are held on Sunday mornings) to sell unsuitable work attire. If you are willing to help with this please complete the Volunteer Information Form or telephone the office on 9381 7884 for the next market day event.

Office Administration Support: Volunteers help out with mailings and other administrative tasks.  We ask if you have an area of speciality such as website design, graphic design, writing for newsletters, data entry and general office duties please fill in the Volunteer Information Form or email info@readytowork.org.au

To get started please download and fill in the Volunteer Information Form and return to Ready to Work via email or post. To ensure the best fit between volunteer interests and our organisational needs, volunteers are asked to attend an orientation session prior to volunteering with Ready to Work.  For more information regarding volunteer opportunities please contact us on 9381 7884 or email info@readytowork.org.au

Ready to Work’s volunteer schedules are flexible.  You could provide assistance weekly, fortnightly or monthly and for as many hours that suits you.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
