Our Services - Ready to Work Perth Western Australia - helping disadvantaged, disabled and long-term unemployed women find employment.

Ready To Work Inc. Ready To Work Inc. - Empowering Women

SERVICES

Ready to Work has identified specific needs of disadvantaged women who are endeavouring to change their circumstances by entering or re-entering the workforce.   Ready to Work has established the "Three Step Program to Financial Independence", with details outlined below:

Step One - Assisting unmotivated and "not job ready" clients with motivational workshops on issues such as self esteem, self confidence, career planning and career search, positive thinking and barriers to employment, setting goals, presentation, effective listening skills and time management. Please see below how you can organise a workshop at your premise.

Step Two - Ready to Work tailors the services in Step 2 to each individual clients needs.

  • Each client will work one-on-one with a trained volunteer stylist.  Ideally, two complete outfits including accessories, shoes, handbag and makeup are provided to the client that are suitable for their pre-arranged job interview/employment. Personal grooming do's and don'ts will be reviewed.  Once employment has been secured, clients may return to Ready to Work to receive additional outfits to wear on the job.
  • Interview preparation will be reviewed with a HR specialist which will include a mock interview and review of likely issues for discussion in the interview.

Clients are able to receive assistance with styling and/or interview techniques.

Ready to Work's clothing comes via donated clothing from the community, clothing drives with corporate organisation and end of season stock from WA's boutiques. Only good quality work appropriate clothing is accepted such as pants, dresses, skirts, shirts, suits, blouses, handbags, shoes etc in sizes ranging from 6-26.

Step Three -  Clients are invited to career development workshops to help them function more confidently in the workplace.  These may include workshops on issues such as finance, budgeting, nutrition, makeup and personal presentation.

All our services are tailored to the client's individual needs, as we recognise that each individual comes with a unique set of circumstances, life experiences and dreams, and we aim to cater to these.

Ready to Work services are free to our clients.  Consultants can make appointments for their clients through our online booking system via our website at www.readytowork.org.au.

Client Eligibility

Clients must be disadvantaged, disabled or long-term unemployed women in Western Australia actively seeking full or part time employment.

All clients must be referred by a Referral Organisation (Job Services Australia providers, Disability Sector, TAFE, etc) who have a Referral Agreement with Ready to Work and ideally have one or more job interviews scheduled.

To become a Referral Partner please contact our office on (08) 9381 7884 or email info@readytowork.org.au.

Organing a Workshop

Dates for workshops will be offered to Referral Partners throughout the year. Workshops will be held at the individual Referral Partners premises.  Workshop numbers should not be greater than 10 ladies.  This will enable the facilitator to provide individual assistance when required.  The workshop runs for two (2) hours.

Information prior to the workshop regarding the attendees is essential so our facilitators can present the workshop to meet individuals needs.

The age old saying that "The greatest barrier to success is the fear of failure" (Sven Goran Eriksson) is supported by current research, indicating that one of the most important factors for disadvantaged women to succeed in interviews is enhancing their self confidence through looking and feeling appropriate, and understanding how to succeed in an interview.  Ready to Work builds upon this research by offering a stepping stone to employment which is otherwise wanting in Perth.

All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
